About Dr. McKinley
McKinley Chiropractic Health Center has been serving Austin since 1999 and would like to share some details about ourselves.
Dr. McKinley (Don) was raised in a military family and graduated from High School at Randoph Air Force Base in San Antonio. In 1982 he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology from Texas State University. Upon graduation, he worked at M.D. Anderson Hospital in Houston in the area of research for the Infectious Disease Department.
He then moved to explore the business world, but found out that his passion and gifting laid in the health field. After he and his family experienced healing and health prevention awareness through Chiropractic care, Don decided that this was the route he was destined to pursue. While attending Texas Chiropractic College in Pasadena, Texas, he traveled seven times to Washington D.C. to lobby on behalf of the profession and worked on current Chiropractic legislation. He participated in health promotions for the TCC clinic and served as a full-time Chiropractic teaching assistant.
Don graduated Cum Laude from Texas Chiropractic College in 1995 and received the Keeler Plaque Award for most outstanding student. Upon graduation, he moved his family to Austin where he began as an associate Doctor of Chiropractic where he focused on Chiropractic rehabilitation. In 1999, Dr. McKinley became an independent Doctor of Chiropractic and opened his own clinic in South Austin. He has since continued further education to enhance his practice, including rehabilitation and nutrition.
